Submission Period Has Ended for 2012 Cape Fear Comedy Festival

The Submission Period Has Ended for 2012 Cape Fear Comedy Festival.  Submissions are currently being reviewed.  After the initial round of reviews the event founders will narrow down the submissions several times and have final decisions by March 8th, 2012.  It is very likely that the decisions will be made before that, but that is our deadline for this process.

We want to thank all of those that took the time to submit to perform at this year's festival and are excited about the level of interest this year's event has created.  We are certain this will be our biggest and best festival yet.

We will be contacting EVERY single person that submitted whether accepted or not to notify them by our deadline date.  Thanks, back to the review process!

Last Day to Submit to 2012 Festival

Today is the last day to submit for a chance to perform at the 2012 Cape Fear Comedy Festival.  We still will accept submissions after today, so don't sweat it if you don't have the time to submit before taking the girl/guy that won't fuck you out.  Just kidding.  We won't.  Submissions end at midnite and that is that.

The process for reviewing submissions is under way.  As we promise we review EVERY single submission and use a very complex process to determine who we pick. It's not just what credits you have or what type of stage you are on in your video.  We are looking for comics that fit the vibe of our festival.  Original material delivered in a confident unique way are a few things we look for, for example.

Also, we will be announcing to those that did and did not make it within the first week of March allowing folks time to make travel plans.  Thanks for taking the time to submit and for most of you being tolerant of our use of Eventbrite to do it (collects all the info at once).

Film "The Unbookables" to Screen at 2012 Cape Fear Comedy Festival

We are super excited to announce that we will be screening the movie 'The Unbookables' at the 2012 Cape Fear Comedy Festival!  Our staff has had a chance to check the movie out and we are convinced it captures the realities of the struggles of alternative comics perfectly and will be a fantastic addtion to our festival! Check out this trailer of the movie!

The Unbookables Movie
The Unbookables is a true story about standup comics who have spent their whole lives pushing limits – onstage and off. Road life is hard. Comics come and go. Cruel pranks and hard drinking punctuate their dark comedy. These comics goad each other to do edgier and edgier bits until they face being fired for going way too far. Will they compromise or double down?
The movie's executive producers are Doug Stanhope and his manager Brian Henngian.  Don't miss this rare North Carolina screening of the film!
