Great Night of Improv Last Night!
What a great night of Improv Comedy at Nutt Street Comedy Room last night to open up The Cape Fear Comedy Festival. Beautiful weather continues on the Cape Fear Coast as we prepare for tonight's festivities. It's stand-up until you drop tonight from 8pm on at The Soapbox Laundro-Lounge in Downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. Comedians from all over the United States are in town to bring you the funny. Make your plans and come out tonight!

80 Degrees & Sunny for Kick Off of Festival!
Waking up this morning in dreary, cold Knoxville I was anxious to get on the road for more typically warm and sunny Wilmington, NC. I left this morning and it was 54 in Eastern Tennessee and just arrived in Knoxville and it is 80 degrees and gorgeous.
Tonight Port City's Top Comic and Improv Shows will kick off the 2011 Cape Fear Comedy Festival in style. Come on down to Soapbox Laundro Lounge to purchase or pick up your passes starting at 6pm. You can also arrive around 6:30pm to City Stage to purchase tickets for Port City's Top Comic if you haven't already for $15. Please not that passes to Cape Fear Comedy Festival do not get you in the door for Port City's Top Comic and vice versa. See you all tonight!

Timmy Sherrill has been doing comedy for seven years and is overseeing the Cape Fear Comedy Festival May 18-21. Here’s a little from our conversation last week.
You’re playing a big role in putting this on. Do you get time to enjoy it?
I do all the Wilmington work and Matt Ward does all the administration and promotional stuff. I usually coordinate shows that are going on at the same time. I spend a little time at each show and make sure (comedians) get kicked off. I’ll go to another floor and start that show. I bounce around and get to check out most of it.
