80 Degrees & Sunny for Kick Off of Festival!

Waking up this morning in dreary, cold Knoxville I was anxious to get on the road for more typically warm and sunny Wilmington, NC. I left this morning and it was 54 in Eastern Tennessee and just arrived in Knoxville and it is 80 degrees and gorgeous.

Tonight Port City's Top Comic and Improv Shows will kick off the 2011 Cape Fear Comedy Festival in style. Come on down to Soapbox Laundro Lounge to purchase or pick up your passes starting at 6pm. You can also arrive around 6:30pm to City Stage to purchase tickets for Port City's Top Comic if you haven't already for $15. Please not that passes to Cape Fear Comedy Festival do not get you in the door for Port City's Top Comic and vice versa. See you all tonight!

Weather Looking Awesome for Festival!

Looks like the weather is going to be great with a slight chance of Awesome for this weeks 2nd Annual Cape Fear Comedy Festival! The buzz is growing about what we are doing down here in the ILM, so let's give em more to talk about by Yelping, Tweeting, Foursquaring and Youtubing your experiences from this years #CFCF!

Star News in Wilmington Interviews Timmy Sherrill

CFCF Co-Founder Timmy Sherrill
Recently, John Staton of Wilmington's Star News sat down with Timmy Sherrill to discuss The Cape Fear Comedy Festival and the continuously growing comedy scene in Wilmington.

Here is a short exert from the interview

Timmy Sherrill has been doing comedy for seven years and is overseeing the Cape Fear Comedy Festival May 18-21. Here’s a little from our conversation last week.
You’re playing a big role in putting this on. Do you get time to enjoy it?
I do all the Wilmington work and Matt Ward does all the administration and promotional stuff. I usually coordinate shows that are going on at the same time. I spend a little time at each show and make sure (comedians) get kicked off. I’ll go to another floor and start that show. I bounce around and get to check out most of it.
