Recently, John Staton of Wilmington's Star News sat down with Timmy Sherrill to discuss The Cape Fear Comedy Festival and the continuously growing comedy scene in Wilmington.

Timmy Sherrill has been doing comedy for seven years and is overseeing the Cape Fear Comedy Festival May 18-21. Here’s a little from our conversation last week.

You’re playing a big role in putting this on. Do you get time to enjoy it?

I do all the Wilmington work and Matt Ward does all the administration and promotional stuff. I usually coordinate shows that are going on at the same time. I spend a little time at each show and make sure (comedians) get kicked off. I’ll go to another floor and start that show. I bounce around and get to check out most of it.
