Cape Fear Comedy Festival Partners with Iowa Comedy Festival

We are excited to announce a partnership between The Cape Fear Comedy Festival and The Iowa Comedy Festival.  We will be featuring a comedian from the Iowa Comedy Festival's 'Best of the Midwest' Stand-Up Comedy Contest at this year's Cape Fear Comedy Festival.  In return, the winner of Port City's Top Comic (The Finals of which take place during the Cape Fear Comedy Festival) will be asked to perform without submitting in a headlining spot at the 2012 Iowa Comedy Festival in October in Des Moines, Iowa!

Submissions are NOW being accepted for the Cape Fear Comedy Festival to be held May 2nd-5th at The Soapbox Laundro-Lounge, home of Nutt Street Comedy Room in Wilmington, North Carolina.


We are looking for stand-up comedians to showcase during our 2012 event.  This is NOT a contest and you will NOT be asked to make multiple trips in order to perform at the event.  We schedule one festival during one of the most temperate, enjoyable times of the year in Wilmington.  Don't miss your chance to submit to the only independently run comedy festival close to miles of beaches!!!

Submissions for the 2012 Cape Fear Comedy Festival begin in less then a week!  This Sunday January 1st we will start accepting submissions for stand-up comics interested in performing at this year's festival.  Submissions will be $25 during the month of January, going up to $35 on February 1st until they close on Valentine's day (Feb 14th).


We are also pleased to announce that Sirius XM will be on hand recording portions of the 2012 festival for airplay on their comedy stations!  Just ask any of the 2011 performers how much fun they had at last year's event then set a reminder in your phone/email to submit to perform at our 2012 event!!!

2012 Cape Fear Comedy Festival

The Cape Fear Comedy Festival is excited to announce that we will begin taking submissions for our 2012 Festival on January 1st, at 9am!  
Changes to 2012 Event
This year we will only be accepting submissions from stand-up comedy acts. We also have moved the date of the festival.  This year's Cape Fear Comedy Festival will be held Wednesday May 1st through Saturday May 5th at Nutt Street Comedy Room.
Submission Info
We will have a submission form here on our web site starting at 9am on January 1st, 2012.  Submissions will be $25 until Wednesday February 1st.  At that point the submission fee will go up to $35 and we will continue accepting submissions until Valentine's Day, Feb 14th.
